Studies?

in my last vocational reflection I decided to go down the path of the social sciences. At that time I really liked to read. I think that just like everyone I have a desire to change the "world". Producing knowledge that can contribute to improvement is what I wanted.

I didn't always want to study social sciences. Since I was a child I wanted to study physical sciences or related to astronomy. I stuck with the idea of the physical sciences for a long time. After that I became interested in social issues.

these interests have always been influenced by professors, I guess in part I want the same thing. I am very interested in the subject of teaching, so it is one of my aspirations as soon as I finish my career. Another thing I would like to do is write, however within the institution I have realized the dark world behind the production of knowledge.

I feel good about my career. if I didn't study this I would probably study one within the social sciences. Although music and physics would be potential options.

my experience at the university has been good, not what I expected, but I am interested in general. I am disappointed in the way the institution works. I still like it and I hope to go face-to-face.

the kind of job I would like to have in the future is one that brings something to change. this applies to any career you have studied. I would like to be a social researcher and teaching if you can.

First of all your cat is so cute, second of all, I'm really impressed of how you change from physics to sociology. Hope you like the career so far!

Žižek!

Although he does not belong to my field directly, Slavoj Zizek is one of the most influential philosophers and intellectuals of the last decades.  He is of Slovenian nationality, trained in philosophy and sociology at the University of Luibliana and psychoanalysis at the University of Paris VIII Vincennes-Saint-Denis. Among his most important works are the sublíme object of ideology, where he develops a materialist conception of history, but from Lacanian psychoanalysis and Hegelian idealism. In this sense, the approach of his books is almost always philosophical and psychoanalytical, as well as reflective and sometimes political or related to culture.   He mainly discusses contemporary problems in his books, for example, one of his latest books deals precisely with the COVID-19 pandemic.  As a bonus, although it is by no means a secret, Zizek considers himself a person who is passionate about cinema, and sees in it a form of representation of reality. He is co...

My Favorite Piece of Technology

I think my favorite electronic device is my cell phone, and maybe also my computer.  I think you can do a lot of useful things with a cell phone, even as much as with a computer. For example, sometimes I prefer to read a pdf on my cell phone rather than on my computer, or sometimes I prefer to print from my cell phone. So it's a very useful tool for day-to-day use.  The "story" of this cell phone is strange, my mother found it on the bus and passed it to me, I "fixed" it and kept it. I have always been good at losing cell phones, one day one was stolen in Estación Central.I lost another one jumping over a fence to get to the bus stop.  I've never been much of a cell phone shut-in, although lately it helps me a lot to check things out and keep up to date, read pdfs, watch something of interest, etc.

4. TIME TRAVEL TO THE FUTURE

Time travel is a dilemma for modern science, and seems to be more of a fantasy that is kept alive as the possibility of something unknown and new. The interesting thing about time travel is, perhaps, to satisfy an inner need or desire to know beyond what is humanly possible, to know what is going to happen, to witness it and perhaps to live it. Perhaps it is just the fantasy of an increasingly technological world, with newer things, that satisfy that fantasy of cyber and networks implanted by the spectacle and popular culture. be that as it may, time travel exists, even if only at the level of an idea. Its usefulness, far from the practical function behind the concept of "travel", is no more than imagining virtual scenarios with the possibility of being , in the case of travel into the future, or simply the possibility of never having been , in the case of travel into the past. In any case, if time travel is possible I would like to travel into the future a considerable numbe...
