Yui, my cat

Curiously, I recently saw a movie in which Anthony Hopkins appears, the character he plays is the owner of several cats and about one of them he says that it was impossible for him to assign a name, because they never respond to them and do what they want.

My cat's name is due to a character from an anime, and it was mostly as a joke, as it is well known that in cats names are more useful to us than to them, and I thought it was funny to give her that name.

The picture is from the first day she came home, she is a Carey "breed" kitten that we adopted with my girlfriend. We saw an ad on Facebook for a kitten picked up from the street and went looking for her. At that time she was about 3 months old.

I had never had a cat before, once there was one in the house for a day or so, but they made me vote it out. I was always reluctant to the idea of having a cat, and my mother can't be around furry animals, but we've actually done pretty well with her and haven't had any problems.

As of today it should be about 5 months old, and it is the best. She is bitter and angry like many of us who live here in the house.

  3. Adopting animals is the best thing, when they come into our lives they become indispensable and we have the opportunity to take better care of them.

4. TIME TRAVEL TO THE FUTURE

Time travel is a dilemma for modern science, and seems to be more of a fantasy that is kept alive as the possibility of something unknown and new. The interesting thing about time travel is, perhaps, to satisfy an inner need or desire to know beyond what is humanly possible, to know what is going to happen, to witness it and perhaps to live it. Perhaps it is just the fantasy of an increasingly technological world, with newer things, that satisfy that fantasy of cyber and networks implanted by the spectacle and popular culture. be that as it may, time travel exists, even if only at the level of an idea. Its usefulness, far from the practical function behind the concept of "travel", is no more than imagining virtual scenarios with the possibility of being , in the case of travel into the future, or simply the possibility of never having been , in the case of travel into the past. In any case, if time travel is possible I would like to travel into the future a considerable numbe...

5. CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

When I think about possible changes or reforms that my career should undergo, I first think about the quantitative-qualitative dichotomy, a major contradiction. It is common to enter the world of research, whatever it may be, and to be confronted with the methodological bifurcation that weighs on the research paradigms; immediately the aim is to eliminate the dichotomy in the first semesters, but later in the career, the specific subjects exacerbate the disjunctive, giving special priority to the focus of the field. This is the contradiction, an empty effort to destroy the idea that quantitative and qualitative are mutually exclusive, and then proceed to teach the opposite. Really, it's just a question I don't understand about the race and I think it doesn't make a lot of sense. It's certainly something that could be done better, I don't know exactly in what way, but it could be.  Another thing I would change, are the absurd amounts of academic load (of any career i...

6. ENGLISH LANGUAGE CHALLENGES

Before entering university I had very little to do with English, so when thinking about my academic future I never contemplated the idea of having English. It is as if my brain voluntarily and unconsciously decided to ignore the subject. That is why the English test that measures the level of command of the language took me by surprise, I saw that I had to take it and I did not think much about it and I started the test at the same moment. I didn't even manage to answer all the questions, and half (or maybe more) of the ones I answered were random. Now that I am here, I have the feeling that I know a little more English than before, maybe I learned more this semester than last semester. Without a doubt, having English in person is very different from having it online, in a way the physical space and the pressure of being in person pressures us to learn in one way or another. In this sense, it is good to have the feeling of having learned something even when I didn't feel like d...
